ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 14. Swedish Scania CV AB plans to implement a project to assemble power generators in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

This topic was discussed during a meeting between the Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST (a national company) Yerzhan Yelekeyev and the Vice President of the Swedish company, Pascal Zappone.

Yelekeyev agreed with Scania CV AB's plans to implement a new project.

"In 2023, the share of power generator imports to Kazakhstan exceeded the share of exports by more than ten times. Statistics have shown that the development of this industry sector is a priority. In this regard, we welcome the initiative of the Swedish investor to expand its activities in Kazakhstan and are ready to continue to provide a full range of services to support investment projects affecting the development of economic sectors," he said.

In turn, Zappone thanked KAZAKH INVEST for its support in implementing investment projects and expressed interest in opening a regional hub of the company in Central Asia in Kazakhstan, which could increase production capacities and export potential.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further development of bilateral relations and technology transfer.

To note, Scania CV AB manufactures industrial and marine engines, trucks, and buses. The company employs sustainable, economical, and environmentally friendly solutions in more than 100 countries.

In 2023, the company launched truck production in Kazakhstan's Karaganda region.
