BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Belgian Ahlers Logistics plans to construct an A-class warehouse in Kazakhstan's Almaty city, meeting all European standards, Johan Elzes, New Growth Business Unit Director at Ahlers Logistics, told Trend.

"Ahlers views Central Asia as a promising investment destination. In line with this vision, we plan to construct an A-class warehouse in Almaty that meets all European standards. By offering end-to-end logistics solutions tailored to the needs of Western companies navigating this strategic route, we aim to solidify our position as a reliable one-party logistics solution provider in the region, pivoting around our expertise combined with our own assets," he said.

According to him, the current portfolio of Ahlers Logistics in Central Asia is quite broad – from tobacco and project cargo to chemicals and heavy machinery.

"Continuous expansion of our customer base in the region is a strategic priority for Ahlers Logistics, as we aim to seize the opportunities emerging along the Middle Corridor. To underscore our dedication, we signed cooperation agreements with Kazakh Invest in March. Additionally, we collaborate closely with local business associations such as the BeNeLux Chamber of Commerce, AWEX, and Flanders Investment and Trade," Johan Elzes noted.

Founded in 1909 in the Port of Antwerp, Ahlers Logistics operates in 3 regions (Europe, the CIS, Asia), helping customers drive future growth in complex markets.

For more than 110 years, Ahlers has been helping customers all over the world. Ahlers is part of the AXE Group, which also includes Xylos (an ICT service provider), AXE Investments (an investment company), and Agidens (automatization projects).

The company provides state-of-the-art logistics support in sustainable supply chain management, warehousing, projects, machinery logistics, secured transport, trade logistics, after-sales services, and data analytics.
