President of Kazakhstan to participate in today's G8 meeting

(Kazakhstan today) - Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, among other persons invited to the G8 summit in St.Petersburg will participate in the concluding meeting to be held by the G8 leaders, Kazakhstan Today reports quoting Russian media.

Last night Mr. Nazarbayev arrived in the Northern capital of Russia, reports Trend.

The final meeting is opening today at 10 AM in the Marble Hall of the Constantine Palace.

The leaders of Russia, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, and the USA, as well as Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, Matti Vanhanen, Chairman of European Union - Prime Minister of Finland will participate. Apart from the G8 leaders Hu Jintao, Chairman of China, Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, Vicente Fox, President of Mexico, Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, Thabo Mbeki, President of South Africa, will participate in the meeting.

Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General, Mohammed el-Baradei, secretary general of the IAEA, heads of the UNESCO, the World Bank, the WHO, and other organisations are guests at the summit.

After the meeting there will be a working lunch in the Blue Hall of the Palace for the heads of state and government of the G8, invited leaders, and heads of international organisations. It will be followed by a photo session with participation of the G8 leaders and the summit guests.

The summit will be concluded this afternoon by a press conference of the G8 leaders.
