We are proud that development of electronics, optics, precision engineering and all the technical elements that ensured creation of Belorussias own satellite is sufficiently up-to-date in this country. Therefore, Belorussian government assumed a resolution on creation of Belorussian BelKa satellite in 2004, she said.

Moreover, we had already had concrete proposals on commercial sale of information acquired by the satellite. However, everybody, including President of Byelorussia, stood for satellite fall, Pakush said.

Byelorussian satellite has been insured both by Byelorussian insurers and foreign banks. Insurance cost makes up $9 mln.

Russia is at the moment negotiating with our engineer scientists. Fortunately, we saved all the scientific and technical documentation on the satellite. Saying true, starting from September 1, Byelorussia was going to set about a new program on creation of new high-tech satellites that are to be very interesting according to all the engineering factors. It will be absolutely new generation of space monitoring satellites, the ambassador regards.

Pakush stressed that Russia proposed Byelorussia to resume satellites for new launch after a year. In this respect, Byelorussian government program that will report to the president which variant is to be chosen by the parties has been ratified.
