(kazinform) - In terms of the official visit to Brussels the Chairman of Kazakh Majilis (Lower Chamber of Parliament) Ural Mukhamedzhanov carried negotiations with the President of European Parliament Josep Borrell Fontelles.
Ural Mukhamedzhanov informed the head of the European Parliament of the main points of Kazakhstan political modernization program and a Kazakh Leader's strategy of Kazakhstan's entry into the 50 most competitive world countries, reports Trend.
Dynamic and progressive development of relations between Kazakhstan and European Union and success of Kazakhstan and European Union on going up from the bilateral relations to strategic partnership level were mentioned at the meeting.
The result of 2005 on commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and European Union is likely to top EUR 12.7 bln, which is much better than all the other Central Asian and Caucasian countries' results.
Josep Borrell Fontelles highly appreciated Kazakhstan policy at international and inter-confessional consent and stressed out a point on the results of the 2nd Congress of the World and Traditional Religions' Leaders in Astana.
The European Parliament President also noted importance of Kazakhstan in providing of EU energy security; therefore, Borrell Fontelles is willing to visit Kazakhstan by the end of 2006.
