Kazakh parliamentary delegation departs for human security forum in Japan

(gazeta.kz) - A delegation of the Mazhilis, Kazakhstan's Lower House, headed by Speaker Ural Mukhamedzhanov has departed today, December 1, for Japan to participate in a parliamentary forum on human security due to take place in Tokyo on 4 - 5 December, the Mazhilis press service told Kazakhstan Today.

"The main theme of the parliamentary forum in Tokyo is human security, as well as the role of parliamentarians in propaganda of the human security culture and prevention of conflicts," - the press service said, reports Trend.

Mr. Mukhamedzhanov is expected to deliver a speech on the contribution of Kazakhstan into the human security.

The annual forum will gather more than 1,300 legislators from 112 countries and two regional parliaments.

"After the conference in order to further develop parliamentary co-operation with colleagues from the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament there will be meetings with Y.Kono, Chairman of the House, and T.Kawamura, Executive Secretary of the Japanese Parliamentary League of Friendship with Kazakhstan," - the press service said.

According to the Mazhilis, on their way to Japan the Kazakhstani MPs will make a brief stop in Seoul, South Korea, where they will meet Lim Chae-Jung, Chairman of Korea's National Assembly, and discuss the current condition and prospects of co-operation between the Parliaments with him.
