Nobody bears responsibility for sale of expired drugs in Kyrgyzstan, Nikolai Bailo, member of the Parliament said Wednesday while discussing technical regulations on Medical products safety at a session of Communist parliament group, news agency "24.kg" reported.

"Why do not we punish a pharmacist, who willfully prolongs expiry dates of drugs and sells them with no worries? It is a direct threat to population of the country. The norm should be detailed in the technical regulations," Bailo said.

Marat Mambetov, the Kyrgyz Health Care Minister outlined, that responsibility of pharmacists is specified in the Medications bill.

As to the minister, at least four directors of companies were brought to trial for expired drugs smuggling in Kyrgyzstan in 2000.
