The European Union on Saturday said it would send experts to Kyrgyzstan to assess the humanitarian situation in the wake of violence in the south that has claimed dozens of lives, DPA reported.
If needed, the EU is prepared to mobilise a relief fund within a short time, Kristalina Georgieva, the bloc's commissioner international cooperation, humanitarian aid and crisis response, said in Brussels.
At least 6,000 people are reportedly on the move, trying to flee Kyrgyzstan.
