Capitals of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan - Bishkek and Astana - became twin cities, 24.kg reports with reference to Khabar Agency.

As noted the akim of Astana Imangali Tasmagambetov and the mayor of Bishkek Isa Omurkulov concluded an agreement and Astana has had the 20th twin city.

"Meeting with the colleague and the guest Imangali Tasmagambetov expressed confidence that relationships between two cities will develop as rapidly and positively as relations of our countries. Now 54 Kyrgyz and 17 joint enterprises are operating on the territory of Astana," informs Khabar.

Sister towns are towns situated in different states having friendly relations for mutual familiarization with life, history and culture aimed at improving better mutual understanding, strengthening cooperation and friendship between peoples of various countries as well as experience exchange in solving similar problems faced by city authorities and organizations.
