Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 5 / Trend /
OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier has stated that Kyrgyzstan's people need support of all interested international parties on the threshold of the presidential elections in the country, KAZINFORM reported.
"Now the situation in Kyrgyzstan is stable, but the presidential elections are conducted in the difficult time. The Kyrgyz state and people need support of all interested international sides for conducting the elections to the best advantage," Zannier said at a session of the CSTO Permanent Council in Moscow.
He said during his visit to Kyrgyzstan it is planned to hold meetings with the country's leadership, representatives of international organizations and political forces of the country. The visit is aimed at promotion of ensuring fair and free elections in Kyrgyzstan.
"It is necessary to elaborate a climate of trust and an environment, which will be based on stability. During the Kyrgyzstan visit, I will call upon all participants of the pre-election process and the country's population to be responsible," he emphasized.
The October 30 elections will be the first elections after the change of power in April 2010. The election campaign began on Sept. 25.
