BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. Kyrgyzstan exported 290 kg of gold in 2022, which is a substantial drop from the same period of 2021 (24 tons), Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, the value of Kyrgyz gold exports in the reporting period amounted to $13 million, versus $1.4 billion in 2021.
Last year, Kyrgyzstan exported 202 kg of gold worth $11 million to China, which is a decrease of 44 percent from 2021 (307 kg for $21 million).
Kyrgyzstan also exported 83 kg of gold worth $789,700 to Türkiye, which is an increase of 62 percent from 35 kg of gold worth $485,300 in 2021.
Additionally, last year some 4.9 kg of gold worth $296,000 were exported to the UAE, while Kyrgyzstan did not export gold to the UAE in 2021.
In 2021 Kyrgyzstan also supplied 4 tons of gold worth $233 million to the UK, however no exports to the UK were made in 2022.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan imported 478 kg of gold worth $25.7 million in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan mainly imported gold from Kazakhstan (471 kg for $25.4 million). The second supplier of gold to Kyrgyzstan in 2022 was Russia (7 kg for $294,800).
