BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. German Knauf (a manufacturer of building materials) plans to construct a gypsum plant in the southern part of Kyrgyzstan, Alexander Blumhardt Executive Manager CIS countries of Knauf Group said, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
This was stated following the meeting of German businessmen with the deputy prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Torobaev.
Blumhardt said that Knauf is ready to attract investments to Kyrgyzstan, with a particular interest in the construction sector, specifically in the production of building materials.
“We have conducted market research and negotiations on the construction of a building materials plant. As a result of the negotiations, we have decided to build the plant in the southern part of the country. Currently, we are studying gypsum deposits there,” the representative of the German company said.
According to him, the construction of the plant will not only improve the well-being of the local population by creating jobs but will also provide an additional impulse for the development of the region as a whole.
In turn, Torobaev announced that the project proposed by the German businessmen for the construction of a service center for automotive transport in Kyrgyzstan will be supported.
During the meeting with the German businessmen, issues related to the creation of a laboratory for the certification of Kyrgyz agricultural products and the development of the tourism industry were also discussed.
German Knauf is the largest manufacturer of building materials, which operates in more than 90 countries worldwide.
