BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. Kyrgyzstan expects investments from Uzbekistan's businessmen to exceed $70 million, Trend reports.
As the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan reported, active work is underway to implement joint investment projects with Uzbekistan.
In particular, the two countries are eager to implement two major industrial projects - an enterprise for the production of basalt fiber, calcium carbide, textile and clothing production, as well as a quartz enrichment plant in Kyrgyzstan.
Economic cooperation is an essential aspect of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan relationship. Efforts have been made to increase trade and investment, enhance transportation links, and facilitate the movement of goods and people between the two countries.
Uzbekistan has become one of Kyrgyzstan’s major trading partners with bilateral trade exceeding $253 million, and there is a growing trend of mutual investments and joint projects in various sectors such as energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
