IMF raises expectations of Kyrgyzstan's exports and imports

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 24. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) increased its forecast for Kyrgyzstan's commodities and services exports in 2023 and 2024, Trend reports.

Analysts at the IMF now expect Kyrgyzstan's goods and services exports to reach $7.5 billion in 2023, up from $5.6 billion in May.

Looking ahead to 2024, the IMF had predicted exports at $6 billion, but their latest forecast is more bullish, anticipating exports at $8.8 billion.

According to the IMF, Kyrgyzstan's products and services exports will total $3.6 billion in 2022, $3.3 billion in 2021, and $2.4 billion in 2020.

In addition, the IMF has raised its prediction for Kyrgyzstan's imports of goods and services.

Imports are expected to reach $11.3 billion in 2023, up from $8.1 billion previously predicted. The current prediction is $11.2 billion for 2024, up from $8.6 billion previously.

According to the IMF, Kyrgyzstan's imports of goods and services will be $10.5 billion in 2022, $5.9 billion in 2021, and $4.1 billion in 2020.
