BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 25. China will aim for a historic peak in trade with Kyrgyzstan, China's Premier, Li Qiang said, Trend reports.
He made this statement during extensive discussions with Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, in Bishkek.
Li Qiang emphasized that China has been and remains a reliable partner for Kyrgyzstan and expressed full readiness to support projects of mutual interest. He also highlighted China's willingness to deepen cooperation in the agricultural sector.
In this context, Li Qiang said that China is interested in importing organic products from Kyrgyzstan. He added that agricultural fairs, expos, and similar platforms could serve as an excellent way to showcase Kyrgyz products in China's markets.
"Our 'gates' are open to Kyrgyz partners, and we can jointly utilize these platforms," Li Qiang said.
Furthermore, he emphasized China's readiness to advance long-term relations with Kyrgyzstan practically and highlighted the importance of strengthening political mutual trust.
He also noted that there is a readiness to foster collaboration in cultural exchanges, educational programs for students from both countries, and the implementation of projects aimed at bringing the two countries closer together.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China reached $3.176 billion from January through August 2023. It increased by $560.1 million, or 21.4 percent year-on-year. Chinese share was 33.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade turnover, making it the largest trade partner of the country.
