Kyrgyzstan-China trade turnover increases

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 20. Kyrgyzstan’s trade with China amounted $4.309 billion from January through October 2023, accounting for 35 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade, Trend reports.

Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that China was the largest trade partner of Kyrgyzstan from January through October 2023. The trade increased by 26 percent compared to the ten months of 2022 ($3.413 billion).

Kyrgyzstan’s exports to China during this period equaled $61.716 million, which is an increase of 26.7 percent compared to the corresponding months of last year ($48.722 million). China’s share in Kyrgyzstan’s exports was 2.5 percent.

The country’s imports from China totaled $4.247 billion, which is 26.2 percent more than the imports from January through October 2022 ($3.365 billion). It accounted for 43.1 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total imports.

Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover reached $12.297 billion from January through October 2023, increasing by 24.9 percent compared to $9.845 billion in the same period of 2022.

Exports from Kyrgyzstan totaled $2.443 billion during the 10 months, which is a 29.6-percent increase compared to $1.885 billion recorded from January through October 2022. Imports into Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.854 billion during this period, reflecting a 23.8-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 ($7.959 billion).
