BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 9. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)'s current loan portfolio in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 232 million euros as of December 31, 2023, Trend reports.
According to the bank's latest data, the loan portfolio was earmarked for the completion of 81 projects. Among these projects, the majority of funding, 78 percent or 180 million euros, was directed towards sustainable infrastructure.
Additionally, 11 percent, equivalent to 27 million euros, is allocated to financial institutions, and the remaining 11 percent, amounting to 25 million euros, was designated for industry, commerce, and agriculture.
In total, the EBRD's cumulative investments in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 948 million euros across 239 projects as of December 31, 2023.
Furthermore, the share of the private sector in the entire investment portfolio of the bank in Kyrgyzstan was 22 percent.
