Kyrgyzneftegaz reports slight decline in net profit

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 17. The net profit of Kyrgyzneftegaz, the leading oil and gas company in Kyrgyzstan, reached 2.621 billion soms ($29.414 million) in 2023, Trend reports.

According to the company, this figure decreased by 24.6 percent compared to 3.476 billion soms ($39.009 million) in 2022 but increased by 21.5 percent compared to 2.157 billion soms ($24.207 million) in 2021.

In 2023, the company's tax payments included 1.477 billion soms ($16.575 million) transferred to the budget and 469 million soms ($5.263 million) to the Social Fund. Additionally, dividends totaling 857 million soms ($9.617 million) were distributed to shareholders. In total, the State Treasury received 2.803 billion soms ($31.456 million) from the company.

Currently, Kyrgyzneftegaz operates 14 active oil and gas fields, with exploration activities underway at three of them. The company is also modernizing its refinery under the Kyrgyz Petroleum Company to produce products compliant with EU standards. The modernization is scheduled to be completed by 2026.
