BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 13. Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states amounted to around $1.384 billion from January through April 2024, which is a 10.5 percent increase compared to the same months of 2023, Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan's State Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan's exports to EAEU countries totaled $270.278 million, which is a decline of 20.3 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, imports to Kyrgyzstan from the Union countries amounted to $1.114 billion, showing an increase of 21.9 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Russia accounted for the largest share of Kyrgyzstan's mutual trade within the EAEU (73.7 percent), followed by Kazakhstan (24.3 percent).
In terms of exports, Russia (55.6 percent) and Kazakhstan (41.3 percent) dominated, while Belarus accounted for 3 percent of exports. Regarding imports, Russia constituted 78 percent, Kazakhstan 20.2 percent, and Belarus 1.7 percent.
In total, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $5.171 billion from January through April 2024, which is a 27.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 ($4.051 billion).
Exports totaled $760.6 million, up by 19.7 percent compared to $635.678 million in January–April 2023. Imports grew by 29.2 percent compared to $3.415 billion in the same period in 2023, reaching $4.411 billion from January through April 2024.
