BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. The volume of Azerbaijan's trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan has almost doubled year-on-year to $26.3 million in the first five months of this year, against $13.5 million from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, during the reporting period, exports to Kyrgyzstan totaled $22.4 million, which is 94 percent more than $11.5 million in the corresponding months of last year.
Import supplies from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan reached $3.8 million and increased by 92 percent compared to January through May 2023 ($2 million).
To note, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries from January through May 2024 exceeded $2.5 billion and decreased by 7.86 percent, or $215.5 million on an annualized basis. Its specific weight in the total foreign trade turnover of the country amounted to 13.7 percent.
Overall, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through May 2024 decreased by 19.67 percent, or $4.5 billion, compared to the same period in 2023 (from $22.9 billion to $18.4 billion).
