BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 13. Kyrgyzstan exported 8,935 tons of copper ores and concentrates from January through July 2024, which is a 43.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, when exports totaled 6,234 tons, Trend reports.
According to the country’s State Statistical Committee, the total export value reached $11.824 million, which is an 8.2 percent increase from $10.927 million in the January-July 2023 figures.
Specifically, 4,525 tons of ore valued at $8.073 million were sent to Uzbekistan, while 4,410 tons worth $3.750 million were exported to China.Notably, during the same period last year, Kyrgyzstan only exported copper ores and concentrates to China.
From January to July of 2024, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $8.8 billion, representing a 4.7 percent year-on-year growth. Exports decreased by 3.7 percent to $1.6 billion, while imports increased by 6.7 percent to $7.217 billion.
