BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. The amount of issued bank payment cards in Tajikistan totaled 5.1 million cards as of December 31, 2022, increasing by 45.5 percent compared to the same period in 2021, Trend reports citing the National Bank of Tajikistan.
The total number of digital wallets of credit institutions amounted to 6.3 million wallets, which is 2.8 million more than in the same period of 2021.
Reportedly, there were registered 1,724 ATMs and 6,004 electronic payment terminals in Tajikistan as of the end of December 2022.
The number of ATMs increased by 312 units compared to the same date in 2021, and the number of electronic payment terminals – by 1,126 units.
Of the total number of electronic payment terminals, 2,132 terminals accounted for cash points and 3,872 are located in the trade organizations and the service points.
Meanwhile, some 33.4 million non-cash payments were conducted in the trade organizations and the service points of the country in 2022. The value of payments totaled 8.2 billion somoni ($750.9 million), which is 2.3 times more than in 2021.
