DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 14. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan have an opportunity to gain from the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) decision to replenish its fund, being among its primary recipients, Trend reports.

According to the ADB, the bank, along with its donors, has agreed to a $5 billion replenishment for the Asian Development Fund (ADF) 14 and the Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF) 8. The ADF serves as the ADB's largest source of grants for operations in its poorest and most vulnerable developing member countries, being replenished every four years.

ADF 14, the 14th replenishment of the ADF, will facilitate grant operations from 2025 to 2028. Notably, this replenishment is approximately 22 percent higher than the $4.1 billion available in ADF 13.

ADF 14 aims to provide dedicated assistance to small island developing states, which are particularly vulnerable to climate change, and to countries facing fragile and conflict-affected situations. More than $2.5 billion, constituting 51 percent of the replenishment, will be funded by contributions from donors.

TASF 8, on the other hand, will allocate grants to prepare projects, enhance capacity, and offer technical or policy advice.
