Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Turkmenistan to attend a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of States in Ashgabat on Dec. 5, Russian presidential press service reported.
The agenda of the summit, which will be chaired by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhammadov, includes, in particular, development of multilateral cooperation in trade, economic and monetary spheres, culture, ecology and security.
It is planned that leaders of the CIS will exchange views on international issues of mutual interest, will be informed about activities of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth to strengthen integration cooperation in the CIS space.
Vladimir Putin will hold a number of bilateral meetings.
