BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. Turkmenistan reveals a volume of sown areas for vegetable crops, Trend reports citing Turkmenportal.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Esenmyrat Orazgeldyev, during the online cabinet meeting, reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov that to date, in order to provide the population with domestic food, 30,000 hectares were planted with early potatoes, 10,000 hectares of onions, 1,500 hectares of cabbage and 3,000 hectares of carrots.
In order to obtain a high yield, additional feeding and watering of crops are carried out these days, as well as treatment of plants with means of protection against agricultural pests.
The state provides targeted support for the development of the agricultural sector in Turkmenistan. In particular, the entire production infrastructure of the agro-industrial sector is being re-equipped and modernized, the chemical industry is developing, and modern tractors, combines, and other equipment are being purchased.
