BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hadjiev held a meeting with the Regional Representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for Central Asia Ryszard Komenda, Trend reports citing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the UN OHCHR, including the implementation of the commitments and provisions of the human rights conventions.
At the same time, the issues of the activities of the Interdepartmental Commission to ensure the implementation of Turkmenistan's international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law were discussed.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan stressed that an important aspect of joint activities is the preparation of reports to the UN treaty bodies and noted the country's readiness to participate in the processes to improve the capacity of the Ombudsman Institution, the introduction of educational programs and regional events.
