BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 15. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev met with a delegation of the International Labour Organization (ILO) headed by the Director of the Department of Labor Standards, Ms. Korin Varga on November 14, 2022, Trend reports citing the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of Turkmenistan's accession to international conventions and multilateral agreements, including international ILO documents.

It was stressed that Turkmenistan has ratified all the Fundamental Conventions, two of the four Guiding Conventions and one Technical Convention.

Hadjiev noted that work in this direction is progressing and stressed that on April 19, 2022, Turkmenistan ratified the act on Amendments to the ILO Constitution of June 24, 1986, and also added that the Government is currently studying the issue of accession to another guiding convention.

Regarding the request of the ILO to organize high-level ILO expert missions to the regions of Turkmenistan, the readiness of the Turkmen side to organize study visits and meetings with the leadership of the regions and relevant local self-government bodies was confirmed.
