BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. The Miwe agro-industrial association located in the Hojambaz district of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan produced more than 400 tons of canned vegetables and fruits from January through April this year, Trend reports.
The production of the enterprise in the reporting period in value terms amounted to 3.3 million Turkmen manats ($944,600).
Furthermore, 2 large cold storage warehouses are currently used by the agro-industrial association for the storage of fruit and vegetable products.
The company currently grows various fruit trees on 10 hectares of 18 hectares of land allocated to it by the state.
Meanwhile, Miwe produced canned vegetables and fruit in 2021 in the amount of more than 7.5 million Turkmen manats ($2.1 million).
As the construction of industrial and social infrastructure in Turkmenistan is gaining momentum, industry is becoming a key sector of the economy.
This plays a vital role in the implementation of import substitution programs and has significant potential to expand the export capabilities of the state.
