BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. Businessmen from Ukraine and Afghanistan purchased urea from Turkmen production at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
Entrepreneurs from Ukraine and Afghanistan purchased 20,000 tons of urea grade B on the exchange at a price of $181 per ton. The total amount of the transactions was $3.6 million.
At the same time, according to the exchange, businessmen from Afghanistan purchased 1,000 tons of diesel fuel in the amount of $600,000.
The main producers of urea in Turkmenistan are the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants.
The Garabogazkarbamid plant is the largest in Central Asia and is designed to manufacture 1.15 million tons of fertilizers per year.
