President Islam Karimov accepted credentials of four newly appointed ambassadors to Uzbekistan on Thursday, National News Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA) reported.

German Ambassador Aristid Emil Fenster, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman Mohammed bin Said bin Mohammed al-Lavati, Czech Ambassador Ginek Peyha and Iranian Ambassador Ali Mardoniy Fard all presented their credentials to the Uzbek president.

Welcoming the ambassadors, President Karimov stressed a responsible and important role as head of a diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan in strengthening bilateral relations and the implementation of existing treaties and agreements and wished the diplomats success in their important work.

Ambassador of Germany Fenster in a conversation said that Germany and Uzbekistan have a real opportunity to expand multifaceted ties and that he is ready to do everything in his power to make that happen.

"Modern friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Oman are based on a solid foundation of historical ties, as well as the cultural and spiritual community of our peoples," said Ambassador Al-Omani Lavati.

The head of the diplomatic mission form the Czech Republic, in turn assured the president that his country sees its main task as a further deepening of bilateral relations, giving them a practical orientation.

The Iranian ambassador said that the main objective of his mission in Uzbekistan is to consider further strengthening bilateral relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
