Another, the 11th plenary meeting of the Senate - the upper house of the parliament of Uzbekistan started its work in Tashkent on Thursday.
The agenda of the two-day meeting includes 17 issues regarding the competence of the upper house of parliament.
In particular, senators will consider the new editions of the laws "On self-government authorities," "On the Election of the Chairman (elder) of citizens' gathering and his advisors", "On road safety" and the amendments to the law "On the Regulations of the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
Senators will also consider a number of other laws, including the Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea on legal assistance in civil and commercial matters (Seoul, Sept.20, 2012)."
The plenary meeting will hear reports on the activities of Ombudsman, the Chamber of Accounts, the Prosecutor General - the state and measures to further strengthen the prosecutor's supervision of compliance with the existing legislation to ensure the human rights and freedoms, the activities of the State Nature Protection Committee.
In addition, the senators will hear the information of the Justice Minister on execution of laws by state run public authorities, as well as law enforcement agencies in 2012.
The plenary meeting will focus on other issues related to the competence of the Senate, the report said.
