Uzbek president Islam Karimov will attend the next meeting of the council of the heads of states who are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to be held on September 12-13 in Bishkek, the state head's press service said on Wednesday.

The summit's schedule includes the view of 10 key issues, as well as the situation in Afghanistan, fighting against terrorism, illegal drug turnover and trans-border organised crime.

The state heads will have an exchange of views on further improvement of the organisation's activity.

The result of the summit will be a political document called the Bishkek Declaration. This document will reflect the positions of the SCO states where the organisation's current activity in key issues of modern politics and in particular, the Middle East, the Iranian nuclear issue and reformation of the UN is assessed.

Documents of Bishkek meeting include the organisation's action plan for 2013-2017 on the implementation of provisions of the Agreement on a long term good neighbourhood, friendship and cooperation between the countries. This plan will determine the concrete activities of the 'Shanghai Six' aimed at strengthening cooperation in all spheres of the multifaceted activity of the SCO.

It is also expected to sign a document on expanding cooperation of the SCO countries in science and technique.

As was reported earlier, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was established in 2001 and is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation. It includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzystan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Besides the SCO heads, the leaders of observer states such as Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan and the heads of dialogue partners namely Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka will also attend the Bishkek Summit.

The heads of executive bodies and partner organisations of SCO - the UN, CIS, Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and The Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) will also participate at the Bishkek meeting.
