Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Belgium Vladimir Norov presented his credentials to Belgian King Phillip, Jahon News Agency under the republic's Foreign Ministry reported.

Bilateral Uzbek-Belgian relations were discussed during the talks that took place following the ceremony.

Positively assessing the current level of Uzbek-Belgian cooperation, the king confirmed Brussels intentions to further develop mutually beneficial relations with official Tashkent.

The positive character of friendly relations between the two countries was emphasised and the great unrealised potential for further mutual beneficial cooperation and activation of political and economic contracts were stated.

Vladimir Norov replaced Bakhtiyar Gulyamov in the post of ambassador to Belgium who in turn was appointed Uzbekistan's ambassador to the U.S.

Norov worked as Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan from December 2010 till the current appointment. He worked as Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Belgium and the head of Uzbek mission to the EU and NATO in 2005-2006.
