The opening of TST Rice - largest rice processing plant in Central Asia took place in the Kuyichirchik district of the Tashkent region in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to nuz.uz.

A full-fledged production chain was formed in TST Rice LLC, from growing products to their deep processing, using the cluster method.

This year, TCT Rice cluster planted Lazer, Nukus, Mustakillik and Alanga rice varieties on the area of more than 2,500 hectares.

Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, especially the lack of water during the growing season, a bountiful harvest was grown. The gross volume of the harvest amounted to 9,500 tons.

Last year, the cluster's rice crop was stored in warehouses. This issue was resolved, due to a project worth more than 25 billion soums ($2.41 million). At the same time, it became possible to completely process rice in the cluster itself.

For these purposes, a complex for processing and storing rice was built on the territory of Surum block citizens' gathering in the Kuyichirchik district.

The complex with a total area of six hectares includes a hirman (a place of accumulation of grain during harvesting), two production hangars with a total capacity of 15,000 tons, a grain dryer for raw rice and a modern rice processing plant.

Currently, the plant has a capacity to process 25,000-40,000 tons of rice during the season. In the coming years, the launch of the second phase of the project is expected, which will double the production capacity of the plant.
