Uzbekistan’s 10M2020 production of chemical products revealed

The volume of chemical products produced at enterprises in Uzbekistan over the past ten months in value terms amounted to 17.6 trillion soums ($1.69 billion), Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The index of the physical volume of chemical products produced in Uzbekistan increased by 4.5 percent compared to the same reported period in 2019.

In particular, the production of ammonium sulfate increased by 19.3 percent, sodium nitrate - 8.7 percent, potassium chloride - 4.7 percent, and other nitrogen fertilizers and their mixtures increased - by 15.4 percent.

The largest share in the total volume of chemical products produced by enterprises in Uzbekistan fell on Karakalpakstan Republic amounting to 33.4 percent, which is followed by Tashkent region - 16.4 percent, Kashkadarya region - 13.5 percent and 11.2 percent in Navoi region.

The share of chemical products export from Uzbekistan from January through October 2020 amounted to five percent of the total export of the country, which in value terms accounts for $669.6 million.

Earlier it was reported that commissioning is underway at a new ammonia and urea (carbamide) plant at the Navoiazot facility in Uzbekistan.

The current production capacity of the plant amounts to 660,000 tons of ammonia and 577,500 tons of carbamide per year. It is expected that the production of ammonia and ammonium nitrate in Uzbekistan will almost double with the launch of the plant.
