Some $15 million will be allocated for the reconstruction of the heat supply system in Namangan region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan.
During his working visit to the Namangan region, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a session of the Council of People's Deputies, where measures for the comprehensive development of the Namangan region were discussed.
According to the information, it is planned to implement 1,728 sectoral and regional investment projects worth 23.7 trillion soums ($2.2 billion) in 2021-2022 in the Namangan region.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that this is the first case in the last thirty years when so many funds are sent to Namangan for the implementation of investment projects.
The Namangan region also noted the allocation of $60 million from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development. Some $15 million of these funds will be allocated for the reconstruction of the heat supply system of the city of Namangan.
Also, $5 million will be allocated for the development of domestic and pilgrim tourism, partial reimbursement of interest on loans in small and youth industrial zones of the region.
Furthermore, the president emphasized the importance of the development of agriculture, diversification of cultivated crops. The task was set to provide employment for 200,000 young people, allocating 17,000 hectares of agricultural land, as well as 10,000 women through the organization of cotton clusters of sewing enterprises in each district.
Particular attention was paid to the development of social infrastructure. It was noted that this year, 59 billion soums ($5.6 million) from the budget and 100 billion soums ($9.5 million) from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development will be allocated for the construction of 160 kilometers of drinking water supply networks and 11 kilometers of sewerage networks.
