Uzbekistan will invest $2 million to open a large garment factory in the Bishkek FEZ (free economic zone) in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Bishkek FEZ.

On March 29, the general director of the Bishkek FEZ Kudret Taichabarov, the head of the Uzbek company Nil-Granit LLC (SAMO brand) Akrom Ganiev and the deputy head of the Uztekstilprom association Daniyar Khabibullaev signed a roadmap.

Under the terms of the signed memorandum, the Uzbek side will lease two hectares of land in the Bishkek FEZ and will open a light industry enterprise. According to the information, the factory is expected to provide over 200 jobs.

In turn, the Kyrgyz side will create the necessary infrastructure for the factory, adapt the construction project to the construction standards of Kyrgyzstan and help obtain all the necessary permits.

It was noted that the factory will produce and export high-quality clothing that meets all international standards to the EAEU countries and beyond.

Akrom Ganiev said that the visit to the site of the future enterprise and the opportunity to talk with the heads of customs and tax services strengthened our intention to invest.

Kudret Taichabarov also noted that the signed roadmap will be the start for the implementation of the plan of measures for the construction of enterprises.

“Today we are moving on to the second stage of negotiations and already in Bishkek we are taking the first steps towards bilateral cooperation. Our company creates favorable conditions for investors, from legislation to infrastructure,” he said.
