British company considers setting electrical products output in Uzbek FEZ

British MacLean Electrical Group considered opportunities for establishing electrical product output in free economic zones (FEZ) of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Uzbek embassy in London.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London organized negotiations in the format of a video conference with the Development Director of one of the major suppliers of electrical products MacLean Electrical Group Michael McGilvray.

The Uzbek side was represented by the governors of the Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions, including the directorates of Gijduvon FEZ and Chirokchi.

During the event, the investment and trade potential of these regions, as well as the free economic zones operating in the country, customs preferences and tax incentives, were presented.

Also, the issues of investment cooperation, the possibility of establishing the production of electrical products used in the fields of energy, petrochemistry and pharmaceuticals were discussed.

In addition, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit to Uzbekistan of representatives of a British company, as well as further interaction and exchange of information in order to practically implement the agreements reached.

Earlier it was reported that British chemical producer Johnson Matthey considered the possibility of supplying chemical products from Uzbekistan. It was reported that an agreement was reached between Johnson Matthey and Uzkimyosanoat on close cooperation and exchange of information for the practical implementation of the outlined plans.
