Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh Automobile Plant eyes increasing production capacity

ADM Jizzakh LLC in Uzbekistan will produce 100,000 cars per year, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek nun.uz newspaper.

According to the information, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited ADM Jizzakh LLC, located in the Jizzakh free economic zone. The enterprise is engaged in the SKD assembly of vehicles. The multi-brand plant assembles 10 models of KIA, Renault and Lada cars. The first stage of the project, which cost more than $12 million, was launched in March this year.

The annual production capacity of the enterprise amounts to 25,000 units of cars, of which more than 2,000 have been delivered to the domestic market with a five-year warranty. The company has created 250 jobs.

The head of state was informed that the second phase of the $216 million projects is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023. The enterprise will master small-unit assembly, production of 314 types of parts, as well as performing welding, painting and assembly operations.

It is noted that after that, the plant's capacity will reach 100,000 units per year. Another 3,000 new jobs will be created, localization will be increased to 30 percent, and the annual export of cars will amount to $150 million.

It is reported that the plant will master the production of finished vehicles and component parts, begin to engage in design research, logistics and personnel training, the press service of the head of state reports.

The plant's activities will give an impetus to the development of small production and the service sector. Already today, 60 projects worth $500 million for the production of components and spare parts can be noted in Jizzak, Pakhtakor and Sharaf-Rashidovsky regions. It was also decided to open a research and development center in the region together with leading engineering companies in the US and Europe.
