Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan sign trade contracts and bilateral agreements

The governments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed trade contacts and bilateral agreements in amount of $5.9 billion during The Uzbek-Kazakh business forum and the 4th meeting of the Uzbek-Kazakh business council, held on December 4 in Kazakhstan’s capital, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

The meetings were attended by heads of sectoral ministries and departments, chambers of commerce and industry, holding companies and businesses of the two countries.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries Sardor Umurzakov and Roman Sklyar expressed the readiness of their governments to actively interact to create favorable conditions for direct cooperation of entrepreneurs, joint investment projects and bilateral trade.

According to the Uzbek ministry, cooperation between entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is actively developing. An example of this is the joint ventures of the textile, automotive, mining, construction industries, which are successfully operating on the territories of the two countries.

In addition, a new initiative for the creation of an International Center for Industrial Cooperation on the border area of the countries was discussed.
