BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. Inflows of foreign direct investments (FDI) to Uzbekistan increased in 2021, Trend reports with the reference to the United Nation's World Investment Report 2022.
According to the UN, the FDI's to Uzbekistan in 2021 amounted to $2 billion, which is an increase of 18 percent compared to the preceding year.
Uzbekistan in the reporting period introduced new tax and customs incentives for both national and foreign investors in capital-intensive sectors including oil, natural gas, gold, copper, tungsten and uranium.
"The incentives include reduced taxes on subsoil use and customs duty exemptions on equipment, material and technical resources and special equipment not produced in the country", the report says.
