BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10. Uzbekistan generated more than 13.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from January through February 2023, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy.

According to the ministry’s statement, this figure has increased by 5 million kilowatt-hours, or 4 percent, compared to the reporting period in 2022.

At the same time, 11.3 billion kWh of electricity was supplied to the population from January through February 2023, which is an increase of 1.3 billion kWh or 13.4 percent, compared to the same period last year.

In 2022, Uzbekistan’s electricity generation amounted to 74.3 billion kWh— an increase of 4.2 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 (71.3 billion kWh).

The ministry notes that over the past 5 years, electricity production increased by 25.9 percent, from 59 billion kWh in 2016.
