TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 29. The sales of products from Uzbekistan on the Russian Wildberries online platform reached 12.7 billion rubles ($137.9 million), from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
This figure is an increase of 59 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of registered sellers from Uzbekistan on the platform also rose by 1.5 times year-on-year.
To meet the increasing demand and enhance customer experience, Wildberries has been actively working on improving its logistics in Uzbekistan.
The company launched its first logistics center in the country in the first half of 2023. Additionally, the network of order pickup points has expanded since the platform's sales launch in February 2022.
Currently, there are a total of 69 pickup points, with many of them now accepting goods for delivery. Thanks to these improvements, the delivery speed to customers in Uzbekistan has increased by 2.5 times since the beginning of the year, with orders now being delivered within 5 days. This has also allowed entrepreneurs to reduce logistics expenses.
The press service of Wildberries previously told Trend that the online platform is actively promoting partnerships with small businesses in CIS countries. This strategic initiative aims to provide opportunities for local entrepreneurs to penetrate the online market, introduce their brands, and facilitate the sale of their products across all the countries where Wildberries operates.
