TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 21. Uzbekistan's largest gas producer, Uzbekneftegaz, has revised its gas extraction forecast for 2023 downward due to depleting reserves, Trend reports.

The expected volume of extraction is set to decrease by 1.8 billion cubic meters due to the depletion of fields.

Thus, Uzbekneftegaz has adjusted its forecast for natural gas extraction in 2023 from 34.1 billion to 32.3 billion cubic meters.

Bekhzod Usmanov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board responsible for transformation, had initially announced the gas extraction forecast until 2026 at the Tashkent Economic Forum in November 2022.

At that time, he stated that they planned to produce 34.1 billion cubic meters of gas in 2023, including 1.8 billion cubic meters from geological exploration. However, in February, the forecast was lowered to 32.8 billion cubic meters, and now it has been further reduced to 32.3 billion cubic meters.
