TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 9. Technopark in Uzbekistan’s region of Chirchiq, designed to localize the production of foreign and local companies and created with the cooperation of the Russian Himgrad industrial park, plans to launch 10 new production facilities by the end of 2023, Trend reports.
"Currently, 5 companies have already started production activities, and we will launch another 10 facilities by the end of this year. In total, we are currently working on 34 projects with an investment volume of $255 million; some of them are already carrying out design, construction, and installation work," Chief Executive Officer of Himgrad Airat Gizzatullin said.
Some other projects implemented jointly with the specialists of the Himgrad Industrial Park include the technopark in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, which opened in the spring of 2023.
Meanwhile, the number of active enterprises with foreign capital in Uzbekistan amounted to 12,750 as of September 1, 2023.
Overall, companies have invested a total of 139.1 trillion Uzbek soums ($11.4 billion) in Uzbekistan in the first six months of 2023. A significant share of these investments, 59 trillion soums ($4.8 billion), or 42.4 percent, account for foreign investment and loans directed to fixed capital.
