TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 31. Uzbekistan and Estonia signed an intergovernmental agreement on international road transportation within the framework of Investors Forum for EU-Central Asia Transport Connectivity on January 29 in Brussels, Trend reports.
According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport, the implementation of the agreement will allow to develop and expand the geography of road transportation, diversify routes, as well as carry out all types of international road transportation by national carriers of the two countries.
The document was signed by Uzbekistan's First Deputy Transport Minister Mamanbiy Omarov and Permanent Representative of Estonia to the European Union Aivo Orav.
The agreement will enter into force after the parties comply with the procedures established by the legislation of their countries.
Earlier in October 2023, Uzbekistan and Estonia signed an intergovernmental agreement on readmission.
During the meeting, the sides reviewed joint efforts to expand trade and economic cooperation, promote joint projects with leading companies, as well as introduce advanced Estonian experience in the field of digital technologies in Uzbekistan.
