TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 10. U.S. business circles are interested in participating in Tashkent's attractive investment initiatives on strengthening road and transport infrastructure, jewelry manufacturing and export, and the research and use of technical solutions for urban development, Trend reports.

This was discussed at a meeting between the acting mayor of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov with U.S. ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick at Tashkent City Hall.

Jonathan Henick noted that, as a temporary resident of Tashkent, he is glad to see positive changes in the city's appearance. In addition, he reported on the possibility and interest in the implementation of joint socially significant projects within the framework of cooperation on grant programs.

Shavkat Umurzakov thanked the guest for the visit and said that Uzbekistan, particularly Tashkent as the capital, has created a favorable investment and business environment for both local and foreign companies on the initiative of the head of state. He expressed confidence that this meeting would be an excellent impetus for the development of bilateral relations.

Then the acting mayor supported the initiatives of the guests and informed them that, at present, a number of programs aimed at the development and optimization of road transport infrastructure, the improvement of conditions for micro-mobility, the creation of improved parking zones, and the large-scale introduction of trains running on green fuel into the transport network are being developed in Tashkent.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialog in order to achieve optimal solutions.
