TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 19. Uzbekistan's Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) exported products worth $81.99 million in the first two months of 2024, exceeding the forecasted figure by 1.3 percent, Trend reports.
According to AMMC, a total of 7,304 tons of copper products, 4,643 tons of zinc products, 132 tons of molybdenum products, and other goods were exported to foreign customers during this period.
The company's products are exported to more than 20 countries, and the export geography is constantly expanding.
Copper rod and copper sulfate were supplied to new markets, including the US, Mexico, and Finland, in 2023.
Meanwhile, according to the head of the company, Abdulla Khursanov, the AMMC plans to increase copper production to 170,000 tons.
The company plans to increase production capacity to 400,000 tons of copper by 2025 by increasing the level of metal separation.
As stated in the report by Uzbekistan’s Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, the combine produces about 148,000 tons of copper per year, with 90,000 tons being exported, which comprises 70 percent of the total production volume.
