TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 27. The World Bank has approved a concessional loan of $100 million to Uzbekistan, Trend reports.

According to the bank, the loan will be provided to Uzbekistan to implement the Innovative Social Protection System for Integration of Vulnerable Populations (INSON) project. The goal of the project is to improve access and quality of social services for people from vulnerable groups.

At the same time, the project is additionally financed through a $2 million grant from the World Bank's Partnership for Early Learning multi-donor trust fund. The fund's activities cover the development and education of vulnerable children around the world.

The funds will be used to conduct an assessment of the influence of social services provided at the local community (mahalla) level on the well-being of socially vulnerable children in Uzbekistan and to improve their quality.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and the World Bank signed an agreement on the allocation of a $50 million soft loan for the implementation of the Digital Inclusion project.

The project will help Uzbekistan build a digital economy, including through development, attracting investment, and creating new jobs in the IT services sector.
