TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 23. The foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Iran amounted to $255.8 million from January through July 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that this is 17.2 percent less compared to the same period of 2023 when the trade turnover amounted to $299.9 million.
Thus, Iran has become one of the 20 largest trade partners of Uzbekistan.
Exports of Uzbek goods to Iran totaled $86.8 million, which is 27.6 percent less compared to last year ($110.8 million from January through July 2023).
Uzbekistan's imports from Iran reached $169.1 million from January through July 2024. This figure decreased by 11.8 percent compared to the same period last year ($189.1 million from January through July 2023).
To note, Uzbekistan's total trade turnover amounted to $36.8 billion from January through July 2024. This indicator increased by 5.4 percent compared to the same period last year ($34.9 billion from January through July 2023).
The country's exports reached $14.7 billion from January through July 2024, while imports totaled $22 billion.
